I walked around the local Leica store today and inquired about a M6. It turns out they didn't have one but the owner showed me a pristine (like new) M7 with a pristine (like new) 35mm Summilux ASPH. He said he wanted $4000 for both. Should I jump on the deal?

if you can squeeze a warranty out of them, this is a great deal. the 'lux goes for around $2500 and the M7 is usually around 2k depending on the magnification of the viewfinder.

Its the standard .72 finder. I can ask about warranty. I live in a wealthy area and it turns out someone had too many cameras that couldn't use. 
The camera looks brand new. I doubt the previous owner ever used it.

I prefer aperture priority to be honest. We will see. $4k is a lot of money.

$ 4000 is not a great deal, not bad, but not great - you should be able to find minty M7's for $ 2200 and the 35 ASPH for $ 1600 or so on ebay....

A "like new" 35mm Lux ASPH for $1600? I'd like to buy 2 please.
To me this looks like a great deal if you are actually after an M6/M7 & a 35mm. A like new M7 for $2000 is a good deal, and a like new 35 Lux ASPH for $2000 is a really excellent deal. Even better if you have had a chance to see the kit in person and test it out. Any warranty is a bonus!!!

Yeah the package is exactly what I was looking for. I prefer aperture priority so M7 is good for me and from my Canon dslr setup the 35L is by far my favorite lens. My only doubt is the price since its a lot of money.
