Do you know is there many different versions for Elmarit-R 24mm? Do these two differ: serial numbers 2833209 (1977) and 3500709 (1989) ?

Leica Pocket Book doesnt not list different versions from this lens, but mentions its Minolta design, and was later only done by Leica after Minolta stopped their production.

I looked in the great Laney there was no optical modification during the productiontime of the 2.8/24mm 3 Cam[11221] , only from 1989 it was produced as a R-Cam only (11257 ) and from 1996 as a ROM lens (11331).
What is not mentioned in Laney Leica improved coating without any notice to the public. So I would take the younger one.

Thanks! I find this too: http://photo.net/leica-rangefinders-forum/00F6LQ There is some information on optical glass changing after R24 born 1970 (or 1974?). But when, who knows. Early one can have different color reproduction, I read somewhere..
