Leica R8 - what is this new craze gonna cost me?

I had a Leica R9 a while back (with the DMR), and found it out of my league. Since I had the chance to sell it and make a bundle of cash: I did.

Of course, now I'm looking at Leica R's again. What would be the best option to ease back in, and is it possible to find a Leica R8 with a 50mm Summicron-r for, say, $1000?

I sold an r7 and 50 cron for $650 a few months back. Unless you must have the aerodynamic body 😉 it's a gray cam. I'm assuming you will be shooting only film of course.

Great news that you are back to the R-system! KEH has an excellent Ri for about $595 or so the last I looked and you pick up a Cron for $400!

I have $200 in my R4 and $300 in the Cron so for very little money you can get a fantastic setup!🙂
