When the LEICA DIGITAL-MODUL-R was discontinued Leica also stopped supporting the battery packs so they became highly sought after. I am sure some shop somewhere figured out how to re-cell them.

I sold my DMR for a lot of money, mainly because I included 4 freshly reconditioned batteries with it, before it was a widely available service.
