I recently acquired a 35 'cron and noticed today that when focusing on an object with my 50 'cron @ 6 feet and than focusing with my 35 'cron, the 35 would come into sharp focus at 4.5 feet on it's focusing scale vs the 6 feet on 50. I know this shouldn't happen, so does anyone here know how much this repair may cost me or if it's something that is even repairable!

I've run into the front focusing issue before. It is related to the element being too far from the film plane. Usually an issue with the lens mount thickness. Does it appear to have been replaced? Is it a LTM with an M adapter?

It is a 4th generation, Canadian lens. I am a new Leica owner, so I am unsure if the lens mount has been replaced or not. I went and tried to focus on an object at infinity at a 1/4-1/2 mile away and it will not become sharp in the viewfinder. When focused at infinity, should there be a small 1/16th of an inch gap between the aperature ring and the feet/meter scale or should it be flush?

If your 50 Summicron is OK it sounds like a problem with the lens. If you can return it, I would do so, if not, it should be repairable. But I still cannot imagine what is wrong with it, unless somebody took it apart and assembled it incorrectly.
