Can I ask do owners of the pre FLE ASPH worry about focus shift when shooting on film? Do you stick to certain apetures or is it not of concern to you?

I have recently bought a copy and I've been finding myself trying to shoot wide open all the time. I always have it in the back of my mind that stopping down a little might induce focus issues. I'm sure in time I'll learn its foibles but any info from experienced users would be helpful.
