Leica warranty

I was wondering if the leica warranty was 5 years similar to the MP

I sure that it is only two years.

A US Passport warranty is 3 years, extensible during the 3 years to 5 years at a cost of $120. UK might be different.

International Warranty is two years.

There is not a passport warranty on the M8. Just a standard 2 year warranty.

When I looked at the receipt from the store (in Amsterdam) it said "5 years guarantee" but maybe that's just from that store? If it is I'm glad I bought from them.

That is probably the extended warranty. I guess your shop threw that in for free.
