Leitz Elmar 9cm f4 Collapsible front ring issues

I have this lens serial #1237xxx that I have been having the toughest time opening up to clean. There are no slots or holes on the front black filter retainer ring that surrounds the glass. Used every trick I know to get it turning to no avail. Used double sided tape, rubber wrench...don't know what else to try...maybe its glued? Trying to get the front element off to clean a bit of haze that needs attention. Thanks for any insight any of you pros might have!
