Lens Adapters?

It looks like various lenses can be adapted to work on either the Type 240 bodies or the M10 bodies. Especially if you have a Visoflex 020. I'm interested in being able to use a couple Nikon F Mount lenses, as well as Visoflex and M42 lenses. Possibly even old manual Minolta or other lenses.

I see that Fotodiox makes adapters, but the reviews are a bit scary. Is anyone doing this, and if so, what brands do folks use.

Right now the only adapter I have besides the obvious LTM adapters is a Nikon S RF adapter, which is only good for my 50mm f/1.4, and various LTM to M adapters. I do have the Visoflex 2 and Visoflex 3, so I can use my Visoflex lenses, but would like something lighter weight.

I use my micro Nikkor 55/2.8 with fotodiox adapter on my 240 with EVF. Works very well.

I've had no issues with Fotodiox Pro adapters on my M240. I have them in Nikon, Minolta MD, M42 and LTM versions.
On my Z7 I use Kipon adapters, pretty much because those were available at the time I got them and they are superbly made. Nicer than the Fotodiox (but pricier), but they all work the same.

What it comes down to is if you get a bad one, send it back.

Indeed, I have a Novoflex LEM/PENT-NT adapter that cost ~$300 new from B&H. It fits Pentax K mount lenses to Leica M, and importantly features its own aperture ring to set the f-stop on PK lenses that have no aperture ring of their own. Works very nicely in conjunction with the Olympus VF-2 electronic viewfinder identical to the Leica EVF2 except for the brand name and half the cost. 🙂

The more I look at this, and my own collection of lenses, the Novoflex LEM/NIK-NT adapter seems to make a lot of sense for Nikon lenses, especially as it looks to support all of my lenses, including the G lenses. I have a very eclectic collection of Nikkor lenses, and some of them deserve the Novoflex quality. Though realistically, I have to ask myself, does it make sense to use the M10-P with these, when I can just put them on my D800.

I'm honestly unsure on the Visoflex. I need to figure this out. The Novoflex LEM/VIS-III seems to make sense, the more I look at it. It would definitely increase the flexibility of my setup.

As for the rest, I mostly want to be able to play with some 50mm lenses on a digital body. I have very few other lenses that I'd even consider putting on the M10 via an adapter. Though I have a couple longer ones that might be interesting to try. For these, something like Fotodiox seems to make sense.

I just got my first adapter over the weekend, a Fotodiox M42 adapter, so I can use the 3 M42 lenses I have around here. I opted for the Fotodiox in this case as it's basically a couple pieces of metal, and a CHEAP place to start. The M42 Super-Takumar 50mm f/1.4 I was given a few years ago makes a nice little short Portrait lens on the M10. Especially with the Visoflex 020 that arrived yesterday.

I have an assortment of cheap something-to-Leica M adapters I bought to use with my Sony A7RII/TechArtPro combo. I've used a few of my Rollei Zeiss and M42 wide-angles on my old faithful M8.2 with good results. (Scale-focus only, of course, since there's no live-view on the M8.)

My adapters range from no-name Chinese eBay varieties to somewhat more expensive brand name, mostly depending on how often I use them and what was available at the time. Fit and finish vary a bit but unless the adapter has moving parts for focus or aperture control there's no practical difference that I've found. Focusing with live-view gives you a lot of flexibility.

Most of the adapters I use are the cheap Chinese variety. But I do not have many "x" to Leica M adapters though these are now becoming much more common. I have in general no problem using the cheaper ones as they are nothing more than a physical method of holding a lens in place and the main constraint is the flange focal distance which can sometimes be slightly out at infinity on some models.
But as you are focusing off the sensor when using mirrorless this is not really an issue most times (unless of course the tolerances are way off.) The better brand I always opt for are K&F Concept adapters. About double the price of the cheapest versions by other makers they are well made with good quality assurance (never had a single problem yet). And are still but a tiny fraction of the price of the big name brands. I have not checked recently but my impression is they are bringing out more "x" to Leica M adapters given the advent of AF adapters for the Sony system which use the Leica M mount.

I have several Fotodiox adapters for my Sony a6000 and have been very pleased with the quality and fit...Tamron, Pentax K, Canon, Minolta and Nikon...

I bought two of the Rayqual LTM adapters from Cameraquest last week. They're quite nice, but what was even nicer were the rear lenscaps that came with them. I wish you could buy the caps separately, but that doesn't appear to be an option. It's nice to have my M10-P recognize my 28mm Hektor and my 15mm Voigthlander.


I bought the Novoflex LEM/NIK-NT adapter a while back, but other than quickly testing it with a Pre-Ai 50mm f/1.4 Nikkor I haven't used it. I really need to test it with a G series Nikkor lens.
