Hi there!
I bought recently an Yashica GT, but without lens cap 🙁
Anyone have one for sell? Or anyone knows where to find?
If it's not from Yashica I don't care!

Thanks 🙂

I have an original cap that came with my Yashica GS, and it's a 57mm slip-on cap--it fits over the lens barrel, rather than snapping or screwing inside it. 55mm is right, though, if you get a snap-in or screw-in cap--designed to hold the inside of the lens barrel rather than the outside. Just thought I'd mention the difference, just in case.

I have a generic 55mm 'snap-in' cap on my GT, but it is a bit of a pain... At the slightest knock or rub it pops off... very annoying! (maybe I just have a bad one?) The 57mm 'slip-on' cap Duane mentions might be a better bet!

Regards,

Peter

If you have a problem with your lens cap popping off, they sell little string/velcro thingies that attach the cap to your camera case so it doesn't roll across the room under some old lady five rows away watching the 3rd grade Christmas play. Well they work, I can tell you from experience (from my last kid's Christmas play ; )

Any camera store has them for a couple bucks.

I also need one for my GSN, I last got one on ebay from darkroom?? and they were prompt and reasonable, but with the shipping price, it's about the same as my local store with tax.

I'm curious about this oversized 57mm type, I'll have to look into that.

Also, any GSN users know if the battery turns off if you flip off of "A" setting, or does a lens cap need to be on or other shutoff mechanism? Read an online manual, and didn't find any mention of that.

Thanks.

I think there is no way to turn off the meter on the GSN other than removing the battery.
Lens cap doe snot help since the meter is not obscured by the lens cap.

thanks

thanks

will try keeping the camera in a dark bag.

OK, now I see what you're talking about

I just got a 55 filter size lens with what I think is a slip on/over metal cap and like it better than the spring type semi-flush adapters. So for slip on lens, is it a general rule to go 2mm over the filter size for slip-on? Thanks.
