My search for the 35 1.2 is over.
Now I have to wait for it to get here.:bang:
The lens that I bought, the previous owner happened to lose the lens cap and I am searching for options.
I have called the Canadian Voigtlander distrubutor and they are looking into it and have promised to call me back (not holding my breath). I have also spent some time scouring ebay, to no avail.
From what I understand the lens cap slips over the hood, does that mean I am stuck with only Voigtlander as an option? If so, does anyone have any ideas where I might source one? Or would I be able to use a normal lens cap instead?
Thanks

The lens is a 52mm filter size, so any 52mm cap will do.
The cap didn't fit over the lens shade (not to my knowledge anyway). Especially the large hood, you'd need quite a big cap.
The Cosina cap is the annoying pinch style. I much prefer the regular Nikon style cap.

A cheap nd8 filter lives on the front of mine, but if I know I won't be using that, it gets a generic pinch cap.

j.scooter: the hood that comes with the v.1 lens is a "tulip" type that fits on the outside of the lens barrel with a set-screw. The lens cap is flocked with a blue velvet-like material and does indeed slip over the hood. But Vick is right that the filter diameter is 52mm, which is very popular as the old Nikon prime standard. You should be able to find a wide-angle hood and fitting lenscap without too much trouble.
Don't know about the newer version of the lens.

Thanks for letting me know. I am relieved to know I can just use a regular cap.

So yes you can use the pinch cap over a 52mm filter, but the pinch cap cannot be attached at the same time with the Voightlander lens hood on.
