Lens Condition

How would you describe the condition of this lens? I am unclear as to what is going on inside the barrel. I have tried to attach a picture.

Of course I may be wrong, but to me it looks like the paint on the lens element edges coming off.

It is advertised as paint loss, but with no flakes present inside the barrel. Is paint loss a common problem with these "oldish" lenses?

but i thought it was black paint. i have a lens with paint loss but the paint is black.

Paint loss. I've a couple like it for the Prominent. Easy enough to fix on THAT camera and lens- as the rear cells don't need any wrenches for removal. Just touch it up with flat black, and away I go!
