I have recently purchased the Voigtlander 35mm F2.5 Color Skopar. Its the LTM version and I to go with it I got the Voigtlander LH-2 square lens hood but I can’t figure out how to fit the hood to the lens. It should go right over the front and tighten with the screw in the side of the hood but the diameter seems to be the same as the front of the lens, not slightly bigger as I’m thinking it should be. Is there some kind of adapter I’m missing ?

I'm in Arkansas and my lens is in Chicago.
But, from what I recall, the thumbscrew locks or unlocks an internal threaded ring in the hood. You lock the internal ring by tightening the thumbscrew. Screw the hood onto the thread on the front of the lens. The hood will probably end up askew.
Unlock the thumbscrew, get the hood on squarely, the lock it into position.
If you don't see a thread at the front of your lens, then take off the tiny ring hood that originally came with the lens. Just unscrew this ring counterclockwise. With the original little ring hood off, you should see the screw thread to mount your LH-2.

There are two versions of this lens in ltm, one with focus lever and one without. The LH-2 hood only matches the version WITH lever. If you got the version without lever, you have to use some of the cheap srew-in hoods.

Thanks v0sh, I’ve got the lens without the lever. Wish someone would have told about the difference between the lenses.
Anyone want a good deal on an unused lens hood, you know where to find one.

FWIW, the Head Bartender's Voigtlander lens info site notes that the shade for your 35mm f/2.5 P (vs. the 35mm f/2.5 C version with the focusing lever) was sold separately. Might explain why they are harder to find?
