Was thinking of getting a lens hood for my GS645S as the original one's slightly bent.

Anyone with any reccomendations on where to shop, or which hood to get for the GS645S?

Thanks

Hi Trevor -- The camera takes 49mm screw-in accessories, a very common size for Pentax 35mm SLRs for instance. I'd think a nice collapsible rubber hood to fit Pentax 50mm lens would be suitable and easy to find.

Hey doug...

thanks for the info and help regarding both the hood, and the repairman info.

Appreciate it.

Will be receiving my gs on the 17th :D

Oh yeah.. btw, i've also seen ppl using the GS and GA with small hotshoe viewfinders? Are they any good, and do u happen to know which ones they're using?

Thanks once again

You'll want to post some pics shot with it too! :)

Viewfinders on top of the GS and GA cams? I don't know why anyone would do that, unless they were using an add-on lens, like were often available for 35mm fixed-lens RF cameras, and are now sold for some digital point'n'shoots. If someone were to fit such a thing on the Fuji, then the viewfinder that usually comes with such a kit would also be useful to see approx. what you'd get.

I personally would hesitate to use such a thing on the fine glass of the Fuji! While they can't do any good for the sharpness and distortion, I suppose it's worth experimenting with!

Hmmm ok...

nah... just being a bit curious as this old chap i saw shooting at the flea market last week, had a small viewfinder thingy stuck on the hotshoe of his GA.

I asked him if it did any good, and he said it helped get his shots that were closer than 3 meters "in place"...

but oh well... i've heard TONS of good things about the GS645s's view finder being virtually parallex free, and will place complete trust in it.

I've just ordered a TON of provias from ebay. ($1.80 per roll x 20, dating 2005/3) in preparation for the arrival of my GS... dang.. getting impatient.

Will be warming up the good ol scanner to scan my chromes once the GS comes.

Regards.
Trevor

the 60mm lens equates to 37mm focal length on 35mm film... You will want to make sure that a "normal' lens hood doesnt vignette....likely wont due to the F4 aperture, but I'd check...what did I do... I took a 50mm rubber lens hood and just trimmed the edges back a bit....

found a ashi pentax rectangular lens hood and uv filter. wonder if I would get any vignetting with it. It is on ebay so I hate to buy it because it is listed no return. What do you fuji experts think?
