Lens hood for Millenium Nikkor

What is the right lens hood for the Millenium 50/1.4? Generic lens hood would be fine.
 
Which lens hood (filter) size is needed, and what is special about Tom's lens hood? I am sure it is beautiful.

Questions & answers:

1. Not sure Millennium Nikkor really needs a hood; doesn't fare much. OK with just a multi-coated UV filter for protection.
2. When I do use one, I use a Walz hood, meant for the older Nikkors. It screws on just far enough to stay in place and has lots of open space to look through the viewfinder.
3. I didn't understand about Tom's hood – it's for 35mm not 50?
4. What about the Yama hood? I missed that message. It's the one with lots of holes in it? 43mm? Where do you find them?

Tom's hood is a 35 but works just fine on a 50. Nice depth to it, was very effective.

I did not know that the set included a lens hood when I posted this thread.

Raid- The lens hood that comes with the kit is nice but it's a pinch type. They can be knocked off quite easily.

Those old "For Nikkor" Walz hoods have a 0.5 thread pitch while the Millenium Nikkor has a modern 0.75 thread pitch.

While it's generally no problem to screw a modern 0.75 hood onto a vintage 0.5 thread pitch lens (it just won't screw in full sometimes but it will fit), screwing a vintage 0.5 thread pitch hood on a modern 0.75 thread pitch lens will be done at a great risk of getting the lens hood impossible to unscrew afterwards. I wouldn't do that.

I have the original vintage Nikon hoods for all my Nikkor-S lenses but as written above they are clip-on hoods and can be knocked off and lost very easily, so generic either 40.5mm or 43mm tilted-vented hoods are on the lenses while the original hoods are in the drawer.

This is useful information for me.
I will look for a generic lens hood to be on the lens, while the original one will be stored with my cameras and lenses.
 
Highway 61 is right, the older hoods have the 0.5 pitch, while the Millenium Nikkor is 0.75. You can always jam the old hood into the millenium nikkor, but it would be a shame. I found a 43-43 adapter made of plastic -- that has 0.75 pitch and screws into lens nicely. Just jam the old hood into the adapter. That's what i did with the Yama hood and my millenium nikkor.
