Hey all, I'm considering picking up a Summar to try out soon. I love the older lenses and am figuring out what to do for a lens hood. I've been looking at the 34mm to 39mm step up ring since I have some filters I can use. Do you think that a 39mm lens hood would be sufficient for this lens? I was thinking one from heavystar. Thanks

I can't speak for the 39mm hood, but I've found a noticeable difference between the Fison and the SOOMP. I have copies of both [non Leitz, but identical] and in the limited comparisons I've done [nothing systematic, I acquired the SOOMP recently] there's a bit more contrast, because presumably slightly less veiling flare, with SOOMP. My Summar is coated, and not too bad for contrast anyway, so your mileage may vary.
