Lens Hood for Voigtlander 35mm 1.4 Nokton

I have both the OEM and Shapeways version. Both protrude into the viewfinder, but both have vents, and neither obstructs much. Prefer the metal build quality of the OEM, but do enjoy the square shape of the printed version. It's worth noting, the printed version feels slightly strange (and cheap). For day to day I stick with the 3D printed. For traveling, or when the lens might get banked up, I choose the OEM for durability purposes.

I can also put on the OEM lens cap with no problems with the Shapeways hood unlike what other people commented. You simply insert it at an angle. No problem.

Thanks for confirming. I just placed my order!

..and I did order the more compact (version 1) hood, not the one with the cutout.

I might hang on to the official LH 6 hood, as mdwsta4 did, but I'm really looking forward to less intrusion in my viewfinder!

Just received the Shapeways hood (v1)! Looks great, but it intrudes a bit in the frame... we'll see after a bit of use whether I'll revert to the vented.

Here you can see the degree of intrusion at infinity and at 0.7m. Sorry about the poor quality!

These are M4 framelines, so Younger M's might show less intrusion.

Can I use the Color Skopar lens hood on the 1.4?
I recenetly bought a Voigtlander Nokton Classic 35mm 1.4. It came without a lens hood. However, I have the small lens hood (not the ventilated one), which came with my LTM version of the 2.5 color Skopar. It seems to screw into the end of the 1.4 without a problem.

Is this be OK to use, or will there be any vignetting or other issues?

My totally uneducated guess is that it should work since the FOV is the same for both lenses.

OK- I've finally decided to get rid of the ZI, so I wanted to post the hood images for comparison with the M4, posted above.

The ZI VF shows significantly less obstruction with the 35mm Nokton and the v1 hood.

That is because both ZI framelines are smaller, as well as the viewfinder further away from the lens.

Note that there is basically no obstruction on my M6 as well.

I'd rather have the bigger framelines and a little bit of obstruction. YMMV.

Yep. And that's one of the reasons, among many, why the ZI is going.

In terms of the hood, I've much preferred the shapeways hood to the LH-6 that came with the Nokton.
