Hi,
If the square lens hoods are the best type...why are they not made for all cameras? If they were available..would you get one?
Regards,
Craig

Square lens hoods need a way of lining up with the picture direction. Bayonet hoods, like on a Rolleiflex, are easy, although the bayonet fitting costs more to make than a simple screw thread. A round hood is better than none.

Whatever works, is affordable and doesn't vignette. Lenses are round, too, you know ...

I have round and a tulip type. I was just wondering about square hoods for cameras. When was the last time you saw anything other than square on a TV or movie camera?

I have a square hood for my Rolleiflex and had them for Hasselblad lenses. I've had rectangular hoods on some SLR lenses.

It looks like there are a few companies out there that make them.
