Lens not recognized

So as I type I am out with my Nex 3. I just put the Nokton 40 on it and when I try to shoot. Camera set to MF I get the error Lens not recognized. So what's up with that?

There is a setting you must set to allow MF lenses. The setting is: Release w/o Lens. Enable it. It is in Setup menu.

You have to activate the "release without lens" option.

nope, just leave enabled.
