Lens serial # info?

Peter K's website (canonrangefinder.com) seems to be down. Does anyone know of another website that lists the serial number ranges for each of the Canon lenses?

I believe Peter's site may be down for some upgrading. He has been working on both the book on lenses and the site, and I think things have been hectic recently.
Hopefully, it will be back, better than ever, with even more information. Don't let that stop you from investing in the book. Knowledge is one of the most important things for a collector, and there is never too much.
If you need a specific question answered, I may be able to help.

Oh I definitally won't. I'm looking forward to this book.

The lens I am wondering about is a LTM Canon 100mm with serial number 47553. What I don't know is the maximum aperture on this lens. 😕

Is this an all chrome lens? I have one with a serial number close to yours, and it's the 100/4 chrome version.
If it's the black/chrome lens, I'd have to check a bit further.

Thanks Harry. Yes it is an all chrome lens. I was hoping it was something a little faster. Oh well.

Peter's website is back on-line. He had a little pain in the head from my replies concerning the long rf tele-lenses😀

Canon made a 100 f2, 100 f3.5 and 100 f4. The last two were also made in all chrome (Serenar)

You can always have a look at Canon's Camera Museum.
