Lens thoughts for my 'new' M4

I gather that, in essence, you are considering 35 and 50 mm lenses for touring.

I use a 35 1.4 MC Nokton and a 50 1.5 Canon on my M4 or M6 when going overseas and am totally happy with the quality of their images, and their weight in a touring environment. (I also have a 135 3.5 chrome Canon. Excellent, but its' weight is a bit of a problem.)

If you want affordable quality, go for either, or both, of these.

I think I need to look harder at the CV stuff and try and work out which 35 would suit best, I had kinda settled on the Skopar but maybe the Nokton and Ultron are worth a look. I had the 50mm Nokton 1.5 on the M3 I found it lovely, but a bit bulky.

So current thoughts I will probably look for:

Elmar 50mm f2.8 small and I liked my last one.
CV 35mm no idea which, fprobably the 1.4 or skopar
Longer term keep an eye out for a Leica 35mm summaron/icron/arrit when something comes up for a good price.

many thanks

I use a black 35mm f1.7 CV Ultron in M Mount with my digital Leica's. It is a sharper lens than the 35mm f2 Summicron ASPH I also own, resists flare much better than my Summicron, has no focus shift issues, can really separate the subject well wide open and has that beautiful classic look to it. I've been very surprised at how excellent it is.

With the M262..

I'll vote for the elmar. Great lens. I have the cv skopar 35 and it's a great lens. Tack sharp and tiny. It's only fault is it renders very differently from my Leica gear. I can pick photos out immediately. Not a bad thing, just different.
