I think you're repeating the OP's question. See my previous answer.

Ive read all the replies in the thread. I posted the picture becase I was looking for clarification about which spanners people had actually used. Neither the op, or anyone else, had so far posted a picture of this particular spanner.

I have that spanner and it is wonderful for removing shutters from medium format folders and large format lens boards. It is very stable in use, but it is mainly used to remove the leaf shutter from a lens board.
Frankly, it's a bit too beefy for removing most front elements mounted in a Compur or Copal shutter. It can be used to remove a few rear elements or lens groups from a leaf shutter.
The tool listed on eBay looks to be better suited for lens removal from a leaf-shutter assembly. I like the fact that you can change the tips from slotted to pointed.

No, you're right. And maybe I made an assumption about the one the OP was asking about. But I do have the one you showed and that's what my previous post was in respect of.
I think it's a whole lot better if you grind down the tips to make them narrower. Otherwise, it's OK.

Nope. Never will either. I mainly do folders and that's definitely too short to get down into even a partially extended bellows.
