Let's be honest - one camera & one lens...?

Let all of us strip away the bs. If, out of everything you have ever owned and/or currently own - but _not_ want to own or even _will_ own - what is the one camera & lens you would find easist to live with from now on?

It's actually rather simple for me - my T-90 & Canon 50/1.4 S.S.C. would win. I dearly love RF's and especially my CL & it's lenses. But if it came to push & shove, the T-90 would best them. The 8-spot spot meter would win the day, if nothing else.

Anyone else care to comment?

Remember my black Leica M6 TTL body? That's the one. And my Hexanon 35? That's the other.

I find the 35mm FOV more natural than the 50mm range. As for the body... it's the coolest. My silver may be classic, but it ain't cool. In fact, it's the camera combo I associate with a good, productive day! 🙂

Nikon FE and 50/1.4 AI Nikkor. I'm most likely about to be paying more than I want to for one again shortly because I need something that can focus closer than my rangefinder. Why this camera and lens? I don't know. There's something about the lens wide open that makes me smile. The extremely shallow DOF it gives me is great for producing whimsical results. I suppose I'd also be happy with an M4-P and a 35/1.2 Nokton for the same reasons, but I've never had (and probably won't have) one of those. 🙂

Bessa L with the 15mm lens attached. Best body and lens combo you can have! Not even a Leica tops it. Altho an M6 with the CV15mm works, but looks stupid.

My Canon F1N with the spot meter screen (SE) and my 55mm f1.2 Aspherical lens. No question, it is best lens I've ever seen or used!

What may put another interesting twist on this thread is if we also stated what film, if our cameras aren't digital, that we'd also use.

That's a hard one for me. I love HP5 and Tri-X both...but I'd probably have to go with Tri-X if I could only have one.

I think I would take the camera and lens I use most anyhow: the Nikon FE with its inseparable 50mm/1.4. I would feed it roll after roll of Agfa Ultra and we both of us would be very happy indeed. 🙂

35mm rangefinder: Leica MP with a 35mm f/1.4

35mm SLR: Nikon F2 titanium with the Nikkor 35mm f/1.4

APS-sized digital SLR: Nikon D2X or D200 with 28-70mm f/2.8 auto focus

medium format: 6x6cm Rolliflex with f/2.8 normal lens

large format: 4x5 with front and back swings and tilts and normal or slightly wide lens

If the house was burning down? Would I grab the Leica M4-P and 50mm `cron or the Nikon F2 with 50mm F1.2? Hard very hard. Film Kodacrome for colour and HP5 for B&W. Come to think of it, a real photographer always has a back-up, one for B&W and one for colour.
