let's go wide

View attachment 4876933I just bought this 17mm f4 TS-E Canon which I'm using on my S1r via an MC-21 Sigma adapter. For the hell of it I tried the tilt function sideways then converted it in camera to black and white then sent it to my phone then uploaded it here. Technology is mad these days.
This lens is actually for an Industrial Architecture project but I thought I'd better get acquainted with what it can do.
Terrific lens, particularly for architecture. I mostly use the shift function, rarely tilt. That huge front element makes it a bit sensitive to ghosting from bright light sources. Good luck with it!

Likewise. I almost never used tilt with my 5x4 cameras either. This was purely an exercise to see what it could do. Frankly I didn't think tilt would do much with a 17mm lens but I was mistaken. I have discovered it's liability to flare already, sometimes it's difficult to see in the finder and I only notice it later, I'm going to have to really watch for that.
I've just bought a Rogeti TSE frame for stitching, so I'm set. Now, I've just got to put the work in on my Industrial Architecture project.
That's a great picture, I love late afternoon/night photography.
