Excellent shots cpc. I love the first one of the alleyway with two "portholes". The Nokton 40 is working well with your A7S, too. I just got the 35 Sonnar for my A7S today.

I considered the 35 Sonnar myself but ultimately didn't bite due to the lack of distance scales. Lovely rendering though, and I like the size.


Here is one with silent shutter on. If you look closely you can see the artefacts from the rolling shutter interfering with the discharge fluo lights: wide horizontal bands spanning the image.
Nokton 40 again.

I’m extremely happy with the FE35 Sonnar. The rendering is lovely, and the manual focus option gives you a read-out of the distance used on-screen, so it’s almost a distance scale. I’ve only seen the banding from odd lighting interfering with the electronic shutter once in 3,600 photos, but it was annoying as I didn’t realize until later that it had spoiled the picture. But the e-shutter has been a benefit in every one of the other shots.
