OK, I now have a feeder on a tree just off my patio stoop.. And I set up a chair just inside my patio door, it has 15 mutton's I can shoot through.

I photographed these with my Soligar 105mm f/2.8 and the E-M5 was on 2x Digital mode.

I do have a longer lens than my Soligar 105mm f/2.8, I have a 135mm and 200mm, and the Nikkor 100-300mm at 100mm can focus to 6 feet.

But, when a bird in place to be photographed, you have to go with what you've got, else the bird fly away as I change lenses. Frustrating, but, my theory is, "Get the Shot 1st" change lenses if you can. I wasn't well prepared, my 100-300 was in the other room. I was pretty close, so the 100-300 may have been over kill... I so some with the 100-300 from a few hours later. I will post those later.

My wife saves old bread and puts it out on the windowsill for the pigeons, basically to entertain our cat.... It is quite a site to see our cat just inches from the screen where the birds are feeding.

I forgot to add this one, taken on my front lawn also with the 45-200 but through a double glazed window. Green Woodpeckers are not a common sight in UK gardens.
