Let's see your cameraleather reskinned camera...

What's the usual turn around time for the supply of covers from Cameraleather?
I ordered a set for a Kiev 4 just over a month ago,and apart from a request from them for pictures of the camera,I have heard nothing since ,despite a couple of polite emails from me asking for progress information.
I don't mind a waiting time,just need to know the situation.🙁

That's bad 🙁 Let us know how it turns out. I'd like to have my M2 and FM reskinned by them, but for that it has to cross the Atlantic twice, with a lot of annoying and somewhat costly hassle with customs etc. And I can't bear the thought of losing my two most beloved cameras that way!

I've recovered two cameras from cameraleather.com

My QL17GIII recovered in cobalt blue kid skin. I did that several years ago. Notice the patina. You can see where my hands have been. (my wife likes that!) I replaced the black paint in the engravings with blue lacquer. In person, the colors seem much closer than in the photo. It handles about the same as the original cover. I used the dry application method. It was a bear! It took almost a month for the cover to arrive after ordering.

My Canon 7, I just recovered in Griptac black. It is fantastic! It is better than any covering I have ever touched. I am ready to put Griptac on all my user cameras (4-5 more). I used the wet application method. It was very easy that way. I paid for expedited shipping and it arrived in less than a week.

There are better copies of the pictures in my gallery.

Can you explain a bit more about the dry vs wet application method, tnx

Does anyone have .pdf files that have the patterns for specific camera recovering? It'd be great to make some of these on my own out of materials I have available locally. I suppose I could always try to trace out my own patterns...

Any recovered TLR's out there... I have a Rollei Vb that is in desperate need of recovering and I'm debating on what style to get.

Here you go! Morgan did these two, for the boys 😎

Blue Cobalt Kidskin 124G is taking Photo III this year. Red Snake 124G is just starting Photo I. 😀
