Let's see your Leica M

I never saw the nokton 50/1.5 mounted on an m3 , that lens is rather large compared to my 50/2.5 on the M3. Nice setup there though.

thanks. yes, it is quiet large.

I'll have a 50mm col. Summitar mounted on the M3, or a 90mm Elmarit-M, most of the time though unless shooting in low light (hence the Nokton) 🙂

DAG 0.95 conversion

DAG 0.95 conversion

Don as in DAG? Just talked to him yesterday. My 50/.95 should be done by the end of the year. Nice guy to chat with.

If it is a DAG conversion, could I see a pic of the rear of the lens?

Bill

It took Don over 6 months but it was worth the wait. Focus is spot on. The Canon 50mm f/0.95 has a dreamy look to it but prone to flare so it is not a daylight lens (duh!). As you can see I opted to do without the lens mount release lever for a cleaner conversion. Whenever I need to remove the lens I need to get something long and sharp to reach the release button. Now I just dedicated an M3 to it. I had him code the lens too just in case.

oh, you tempted me...I talked to Mr. Shintaro before, and after i saw yours, i contacted him again, he can even help me to paint the eyelets. I'm still thinking, mine is a 1955 DS one in very nice condition.

BTW, what is yours paint name? I think it's not simply black paint.

I think it's called Crackled or cackled blackpaint. Tell him like black hammertone. I am sure Tom A. can help comment.

Thank you Rayt. He's had my 50/.95 for close to 6 months. I originally wanted the Viso III mount with the lever, but after talking to him a few days ago, I decided to go with the mount like your's. I guess I should also consider the coding as well. Looks like a great conversion. Oh, I also asked him to add a half click between .95 and 1.4 to get an approximate 1.2 aperture opening.

I can't wait!

Thanks zerobuttons! It looks like Bott only sell their mobile stuff (vehicle racking & shelving) in the USA.
....
For some reason I had gotten the impression that you were situated in England, and I didn´t look below your avatar before making the last post. Hence the link to a British dealer. Sorry.

Oh no problem! 🙂 I am English and despite living out here in the Colonies 😉 for quite a while I've retained something of the accent and idiomatic use of the language.

This seems about the same as the Rousseau unit I have Peter. I can get you particulars on ordering one if you end up going that route.
Thanks Bob I'll think on it for a bit. Will let you know if I need a pointer. 🙂

Found this old neg-file sheet in my office. I think it was a test of a/ a macro-lens or b/Kodak 400 CN film. Five of my old M's, two black M3's, two black M 4's and a black M2. Most of these were converted to M6"s in the mid-nineties. I think I got about 6-7 of them for this batch, including a Titanium one and a Panda. The M6's were more useful as testbenches for Rapidwinders.
I kept a box in Sweden with dead M's and everytime I went back - I picked up some, had them refurbished mechanically and sold them (and bought newer cameras). I did keep a couple of the original black M2's though and still have those.
