Let's see your Leica M

Hi - David here....... what I did to make the image........

Imported into Lightroom as a TIFF (Raw Files automatically change to a Red color - don't want that), then opened it in PS4. Adjusted the Levels (High/Low - no clipping), then experimented with the Channel Mixer, cut back the blue channel and pumped up the red. Then over to Topaz Labs for some enhancement and saturation.

The image has been "stepped" on - as you can see in the pattern/grain of the table top. The interesting thing I found out was I was able to keep the color of the camera - but the lense and the strap came out red. At that point I stopped.

It may not be for everyone's taste buds - but I am working with the intricacies of Photoshop and it's 3rd party add-ons. Pushing the envelope can produce some interesting results.

My thoughts - not yours - your mileage may vary.

Regards,

Dave

And yes - Gregory - I have never in all my life been so close to a Leica. I have only spent a few hours looking at some of the photos on this site. I am AMAZED at what can be done with this system.

Cheap? No - But my lord - look at what that F1.0 does................

Couldn't resist Medium format too. Here's three of my babies taking the spotlight.

My Millennium Blackpaint M6 and Fujinon 50 f2.0 LTM posing with two of her bigger brothers.

Been wanting a setup like this for over 15 years. (ever since I held Jim's almost identical camera, except his had the original MP -vit). Sherry Krauter did a full CLA and modified the M4 to accept the Leicavit. It feels like an old friend.

Hey David welcome to the forum
It's was fun having lunch and playing with the IR D-70. And it was great to share the leica experience with fellow photographers. Next time lets go shooting more.

very nice set up.

Hey! It's the 1980's!!!

Nikon F3 And Leica M4-P, May, 2010

I spent most of my career as a newspaper shooter with the Nikon on my shoulder; I wish it had been the Leica.

M2 w 40 Rokkor. I like it but I might swap back down to a IIIc and Elmar in order to slow down and make things look a little rougher.

Don't do it - it's such a beauty!

Before heading out yesterday night, I fixed the black dots from DAG to the M6 and M7 and used the occasion, to set vertical and fix with green Loctite on both film bodies:

This is the end of the black over red tape for me.
Both film bodies really pop now after setting, making faster glass sooo much easier (and isn't that chrome M6 classic looking sexy with black dot :D).
Looking forward to the scans on the weekend.

Is that brassing on the bottom edge of the M9?

It is a M8.2 unfortunately.
It is brassing all around already - I got a special soft paint version I guess - is there something like a Leica M8.2 SP (Soft Paint) ?
I wish, my M7 had this finish as well.
Here are some older shots of the camera - it looks much nicer than that already some weeks later:

Here's my M2. As I say on my flickr page, "isn't it ironic that we use our SLRs to take glamour shots of our rangefinders?".
