This thread always makes me want to buy more M's. My being broke and saving to get an M8 is all that stops me from looking at a Black M6.

I spent a week in Morocco with it and wanted to make sure that dirt stayed away from my front element. The IR filter is merely a protective mesure.

I can't imagine that they have much, if any, if a detrimental effect on the image quality.

to me the M5 is the only M that seems to look right with a Noctilux on it. i wonder if they were released at around the same point in time ?

Vick, Great combo. This would solve my indecision on which M5 I should buy. I'll get a chrome & a black chrome. So Now it's down to, 2 or 3 lug? 😀

It's a very beautiful setup. I am just curious, that the SN of the M5 is 135XXX, quite late one. It should be a three lug?

Has not had 3 lugs as long as I have owned it.

Apparently flawless. So, that's good news.

And I love the black enamel, no-logo top plate. Wondering how long it will take for brassing to start, though. Right now it looks too clean and perfect, like new shoes or new jeans...
