Let's see your Leica M

I was contemplating buying a Nikon S off Tom at the camera show this past weekend but was ultimately tempted by a mint chrome M6 that Jeff showed me so I ended up acquiring it.

The M4 which I just bought from the classifieds here a few weeks ago is now on its way to a new owner. I will miss it dearly but am a one body one lens kind of guy.

… or maybe you should keep it then ? Such a beauty!

Well, I am for the time being.
A very reputable well known Leica dealer told me this morning, the camera is worth $3,200 currently and with my factory case puts it near $3,400, right now just didn't seem to be a good time to sell anyway. I just shot this camera porn for beauty, but the camera is going back into it's box tonight.........

I'm planning a really amazing Black Paint Leica M3 if I can work it out that would look everybit just as great as this camera does, would just be without the internal metering, which I think I would greatly miss, to put that into my M3 it would cost another $1,400, which is by me out of the question.

Mine did not have such a pad, maybe a previous owner removed it or the one shown in the link is additional ? Anyway, the Leitz strap is quite wide and does not slip to easy.

It's probably removed. The construction of the rubber pad (tight fitting) makes it rather hard to take off or on without damaging it, and thus once off, it may never get back onto the strap.
