Let's see your Leica M

Beautiful!!

One of those days I will get my dream cam, a black M wirh a Jaguar racing green leather.

I really don't understand the questions - which set "suits" the lens better and which looks better?

The question you should ask yourself is if you need the meter or not.

Sorry to raise a confuse question, actually it's just a question that I asked myself when I get GAS attacked. It's a poll rather than a question actually. In addition, I've been shooting with M3 so meter or not doesn't really a matter for me.

The story is: I used to think that I already got an ideal Leica Setup two years ago and stopped buying/selling things related to Leica gears since then. My set up before Dec/2013 was like this:

Suddenly, my GAS returned in a very spontaneous way last month. In a hunt to look for a 50 rigid, I came to a deal that cost me US$1,000 for a combo M2+50/2 Rigid. I am now in a dilemma because critical thinking I know that I don't need those extra equipment but on the other hands, I am weak and I don't want to part with any of them now. Below is my current set up, if you were me what would you do?

I remember your kit from Flickr actually (I think I even commented on it) and thought it rather perfect.

But we're all human of course and G.A.S. is a real pain in the backside. It's imho only cured by the mental operation of telling onself that one is happy with what one has, which usually is assisted by looking at the output rather than the tools (and btw you have some great stuff on your stream).

If I were you - and forgive me for being drastic here - I'd sell all but one camera, and if I were to choose that one camera would be the M4, given what you've said about not needing a meter. It's the best non-metered M ever (I love mine). I'd also sell the 50 rigid because I prefer v 4 (well, I should be honest and say I have v3 which I really really like and use on my M4).

If you want to sell only one, then for me it would be the M3. I personally use a TTL with my M4 and think it is a great and very versatile combo.

To take this even further, I would consider swapping the pre-asph Summicron 90 for an Elmarit-M. One step slower but overall better and smaller.

Just my 2cts of course :)

Thank you roundg, But im afraid this is her best side. The top plate has a ding in it from the previous owner seen just above the frameline window. It's a user, just maybe a little nicer than most :) sn is 939XXX

Ha! Thank you. The purchase wasn't planned, but I was offered it at a price I simply couldn't pass up. Glad I have two now though. The black one is always loaded with b&w film, the chrome alternates between color and b&w.

Hi Matt,

I remember on a recent thread, you showed us some photos from your FIRST M2. And now you got 2nd M2. You're FAST..... Congrats!

Having recently got my M9 back from Solms with a new sensor and traded my CV 25/4 towards a Zeiss 25/2.8, I thought I'd give my 35-70 Vario Elmar R a workout in macro mode to capture some of the lines and details. There's more shots on my Flickr.

How is the performance of the Zeiss over the CV lens?
