Let's see your Leica M

"I own the M4 and the M4-P, and I must say they are in fact of the same quality!"
M4 and M4-P are not built in same quality.

I got this beautiful MP from maddoc. I love it!

Don' sell that Leicavit! Really, try it out for awhile and you may find it just adds to the camera handling, there is something to be said for a 'bottom feeder'. And that BP with the 'Leicavit' script isn't so easy to find :)

This is a beautiful setup ! :D How does the soft-release work with the MP ?
Gabor,
Thanks for the beautiful MP.

The soft-release works really well for me. I stretch my finger over it so that I'm not pressing with my fingertip...then press very gently. I like the classic size softie the best. This one is from Tom A and I have one just like it on my M8.

I hate to admit it, but it is pretty fun every once in awhile to check out everyone's beautiful and interesting cameras. Earlier this year I moved from twin M6's, to these chrome MPs. Like many of you have already more eloquently said, the MP is just a lot of fun to use.

Wow! nice little collection you got there - are those KRK studio monitors in the background?

Congrats to your M4-P !! Great rig ! Gordy strap ?
Yes exactly, I always hated long straps and was very happy when I found these. They also seem extremely durable. Perfect for safe wrist-dangling.

Here's a couple more quick snaps of my MPs. I was trying out the new Ricoh GR-D II.

The black chrome MP is absolutely beautiful!

No? Why not?

I own a M3 and M4-P (no M4). I can't discern a difference between the built between both of them. If anything, the M4-P feels much more indestructible then the M3, thanks to the steel gears. The M4-P is a superb camera, extremely well built and I have total confidence in it. Total.

If anything, Leica made it stronger and thus, probably more durable.

Open both of your M4, and M4-P, and check it out yourself.

Same goes for the "M6 is german so it is miles better then a M4-P" but when you open both, all you see is Two M4-Ps. Imagine this: altough the M6 has only one flash plug, underneath its cover, some M6 have both flash contacts, which is nothing else then a M4-Ps guts.

What can you say about this?

M4 and M4-P were made in different time, different components, different viewfinder and etc. How can they the same just by using the logic here?? You can use your personal opionion to denial the fact that they are two different cameras. My point is that they are both great cameras, but they are NOT THE SAME. I have no interest to compare M6 and M4-P, becuase M6 has a built in meter that bring a clear difference.

Leica M4-2 with 5cm Elmar. I found the Elmar attached to an enlarger on the big auction site recently.
