Yes, an MP3, from Photo VIllage. Arrived yesterday afternoon. I'm already understanding why people rave about them. VF is stunning with the simple frames. And built like a tank. An easily scratched tank that is.

Bob,
Your MP3 is a stunner. One question; do you have to manually reset the M2 style film counter?

Yes, the counter is manual reset, but innards are current MP- modern take-up spool, battery compartment, ISO dial. Frames are the big difference in use, 35/50/90 each alone.

Last weekend, I accidently won an M6 on the bay which arrived today.
The camera was serviced in Solms in 2005, so I am quite confident about it.
I didn't mean to buy it, but only placed a bid which I was sure wouldn't win the auction to keep track of it.
When I came back later, I had the message: "Herzlichen Glückwunsch, ..."
Should I be happy or be upset?
Now I hope that my Bessa R will find a good home.
Best regards,
Uwe

Congratulations Uwe! You should obviously be happy since you got it at an excellent price!
It's coming off today! I'm looking forward to trying this out.
You are absolutely right. I just got back from EP Levine's here in Boston with mine. It was sold as "used" and it is definitely used. It is all scratched up at the back between the VF window and the flash plug, however the price reflected this so I don't mind at all. The weird thing is the plastic is still on the bottom.sepiareverb said:And built like a tank. An easily scratched tank that is.![]()

Three rolls through it today Peter and it is a shooters camera for sure. Don't even mind the knob rewind as much as I thought I would, but I've got a GMP wind knob on the way- will certainly make it easier.
Did you get black or chrome?

Mine is black - my first black Leica. I'm color agnostic - I take what comes along at the right price
except I prefer black lenses because they weigh less. I'll see if I can post a pic of the back of mine tomorrow, but yes, it seems like a solid camera but smaller than the M7s I'm used to.

Is that a DR or rigid Cron, cause it look like both to me ?

what do you think of the handling of griptac?
I like it very much. I was shooting at a party last night and it felt excellent, like an M should feel in the hand. Definitely no concern over slippage, unlike the original surface. Maybe the grip helped steady my hand -- handheld shots as low as 1/8s were sharp using a 35/2 Biogon.

Indeed it does feel smaller, but it really isn't much smaller at all. The M3 style wind-on is also a pleasant surprise- after the M7's & M5 I didn't know how I'd like it.

Yes, it's Dual Range. See the flat on top for the goggles.
Digitalintrigue: We have kissing cousin Nikkor-S.C 50/1.4 lenses. My lens' serial number is 2938 newer. Small world, hey!

OK Bob so here is mine and the front is fine (lens didn't come with the cam thoughsepiareverb said:Indeed it does feel smaller, but it really isn't much smaller at all. The M3 style wind-on is also a pleasant surprise- after the M7's & M5 I didn't know how I'd like it.
and here is the back and I have a reflection on the scratched area so you can clearly see them - it actually doesn't look as bad as this - they are really highlighted here. These scratches are in the paint (and the door top) and they are surface scratches only. It looks like the previous owner laid the cam in a bag face-up and it sat on something hard or metallic. But the camera is unsellable to a collector

Peter, I bet we are both going to find this a great compliment to the M7. This is intended as my everyday camera, to take when running errands or when off to class.
There'll be brass showing on both of them before long eh?
The 50/1.4 ASPH that could come with these is just as beautiful, but I'm done buying for quite a while I think...

Heh. We should have a 'show us your Nikkor' thread.

That is very nice Andrew with the Gordy strap & all.
Yes well I will not tell you what I picked up on Friday, the day before I picked up this cam. I've essentially blown all next year's budget already.sepiareverb said:
