It really isnt that big! I mean sure, next to a summicron its huge, but compare it to 90% of SLR lenses and it is small! Its heavy, but in a good way, and i love being able to focus by rotating the lens (rather than a small tab). It is really similar in size and weight to old nikkor ais 50mm lenses. Plus I dont have it on the camera 24/7. If it's dark, it comes out, and when it does, it makes incredible photos.
You cant tell me this lens isn't awesome. And it really isnt that big if you are used to non rangefinder lenses!

That makes me miss my 35mm Nokton, it's really not that big when you're using it.
That's the only lens I've had that I really regret selling.

Best combination. I feel that if you hand print from your Leica it gets you even more satisfaction out of the sytem. I'm an addict myself.

I thought you were selling your '75? Why is it at Leica?
And a another question: As a fellow user lusting after a Nocti, how did you find the lens when you had it? The more I think about it, the more an F1 lens makes sense for me and the way I work. Do you think the one stop extra is worth it over the 'lux in terms of the way it draws and handles? I ask because I don't have the opportunity to hold one and have come to regret cancelling my order now that they seem readily avaliable. The Canon 0.95 seems to me well overpriced at the moment and the Hexar LTD 1.2 lens is hard to come by.
Those nokton shots look great! I'm really impressed! You're obviously using it to good use.

Hey Jamie,
Nice stuff with the Nokton! If I hadn't spent way too much $$$ in the last few months on photo gear, I'd probably get one. Do you have any pics of the lens mounted on your M6? Just curious about how big the lens really is.

I discovered it needed an adjustment. I didn't want to sell it if it I would potentially have problems. We'll see how I feel when it comes back. I didn't even really want to sell the lens, I just get silly sometimes.
As far as the Noctilux being worth it, that's all relative if you can justify it. I can't justify the extra thousands of dollars for that stop right now but if I could afford it I would buy it. I really fell in love with the lens when I had it and I thought it was great. Despite it's size I could see it being my everyday lens. It's big and has a long focus through but I'm used to that with the 75 lux and I don't mind it at all. You have to be more careful focusing it anyway and the long throw helps with that.
Hope that helped

Mike, let's do the Bertha party !
Good that you had your's adjusted, Carl. Keep the Biogon/Lux combo,
the set above was inspired by what I have seen from you and Mike.
32/2 + 75/1.4 are perfect together ...
Bertha is the hardest lens to focus on any film M, about 1cm DOF at minimum
focus (!), even less on M8 ... Very few cameras are that accurate, and the M8 sensor flatness
adds another dimension.
Cheers,
Roland.

Mine stayed glued to my M6 with the .85 finder, I'm even considering getting a 1.25 mag for that to make focusing easier. As soon as I get mine back we can have a part

You should grab a megaperls 1.33 mag and turn that into a .96 finder.

I didn't know you could still buy those. Can you PM me a pointer if you have ?
Also, the 1.25x has an advantage: I can still see the 35mm framelines
Thanks.
