I will need some seller feedback from you hahaa :)

Just got myself a unique specimen from haagen_dazs in the classifieds. I decided to test out the strobes last night and photograph my Leicas for you fine folks. Here are a few of the M3 first.

- 1955 M3 mechanism and top plate, converted from DS to SS.

- M4-P shell and winder spool.

- Don Goldberg modified to take M6 winder and replaced viewfinder with an M2 35/50/90.

- Repainted black enamel by Shintaro Yaginuma in Japan

Object of my desire! Good thing that Atom beat me to it. Otherwise I'll be severely out of pocket for the next few months.

Cheers,

Already sent the buyer feedback! I have already put a few rolls through it, look for a thread with photos about it's use this weekend!

I now am completely black paint! M6ttl LHSA pics on the way!

M6 ttl LHSA

M6 ttl LHSA

This was my first Leica. I had done my research and knew that I wanted a well put together modern range finder that was built bombproof, and I could work with very quickly. it had to be black. I had used modern Voigtlanders and the Contax G system and didn't find what I was looking for in a camera body. When I found out that Leica had made a modern camera that was also black paint, and was made of brass like the old Leicas, AND was affordable to me! I could not resist.

The M6 ttl LHSA has been a great camera for me. It was a consignment camera at Photo Village. I bought it originally with the Voigtlander Heliar collapsible which i have since gotten rid of (see avatar). I am more a 35mm person, but I may be in the market for that voigtlander lens again, it was really nice. Enjoy the photos.

If was great personally handing the camera to you in NYC.
I won't trust UPS or USPS with it.
I am glad you are making full use of it =)

Yes indeed. Let me mention how amazing it was that Mark was able to hand deliver the camera less than 24 hours after I paid for it. What an amazing bit of luck that he was passing through NYC.

I love RFF!

Curious, do you find the M3 different in feel as a result of the M4P chassis, which of course has steel gears rather than brass, which some (not me personally) feel gives a rougher feel with film advance?

Well perhaps I should save more of this discussion for a thread dedicated to the camera itself. I do however feel that this camera is a definite Frankenstein. It has a similar feel to the M6 as far as film advance. I'm not sure I have used a straight M3 enough to know all of it's feels and such.

What's with all these Zeiss lenses on Leica's? It's evil!

I'm dying for a black paint M7. Maybe before the a la carte goes to $10k I can save up enough cash to grab one. I'm getting jealous of all the brass around here.
