Got a nice surprise today--my M7 griptac came in from Cameraleather after only a couple of days. Awesome! Also got my black soft release from Stephen, so the M7 is now rarin' to go (though it's already been going for a week). Replacing the covering was very, very easy, esp. compared to trying to get vulcanite off an old camera...a Zorki-1 once took me days, and this whole project took half an hour.
I'm semi-tempted to fill in the white M7 logo with black paint of some kind, since I prefer the minimalist look (the camera already had the black dot when I bought it from a fellow RFF'er), but probably I'll just leave it.
Lens is the Zeiss-Opton f/2 Sonnar with Amedeo Muscelli adapter.
The Griptac looks great. Do you need to remove the old skin from the camera before putting on the Griptac skin? Self-adhesive?

You have to remove old leather and the new leather is self-adhesive

Thanks, it's a GMP Products M-Grip. This particular style is no longer made but I was fortunate enough to find a used one on eBay.
I like the contrast it provides on your M. Nice looking. I was given a black handgrip by a friend who no longer needed it and it proves very handy with bigger lenses mounted.

Glad that you're enjoying your kit. The 35/2.8 looks like a nice lens. Enjoi!
How's the 35 on the 0.85 vf?

Very nice indeed. Did Solms do a good job on the lens?

Built like a tank?
Take THAT:
The M5 works nicely with the Jupiter-12 on it.

Yes, they cleaned it, changed the focusing mechanics and the dual range adjustment. Now it feels like new, is clean and beside some optical surface scratches like new. I'm satisfied with the service there.
