Let's see your Leica M

OK, so i'm sure some of you remember a couple months back when i was supposed to get my friend's M6 after trying to sell off my Canon 5D kit. Well, i was never able to sell the kit, and gave the 6 back to my friend. Last week we ended up hammering out a deal to trade the Canon set up for the M6 and a CV 50mm f1.5 (VM). He ended up not wanting the Canon set up and opted for my Sony NEX-6 get up. A rather lopsided trade with me coming out on top. But that's just the kind of guy he is. He's got an M9-P and a Zeiss Ikon.

So tonight we did the trade, and the M6 is finally, officially mine!

Not the best pics, but here it is. Both the M and the lens have original boxes and all paperwork. Feels good to finally be a Leica owner =o]

My M3 (shot with my M240 & Zeiss 80-200/4)

Thought about recovering it with some nice new leather as I have before with other cameras.
But this looks pretty bad @#$@#

Just back from the Leica meting in SF. Small swap-meet on last sunday. I behaved myself and only bought this. An early M2 #935xxx, shedding vulcanite and very stiff advance (needs a lube job) and the rangefinder illumination window is cracked. Nothing wrong with the curtains and unusually straight body - no dings, no dents and no wear on the back.
The Leicavit MP is like a politicians promise - smooth outside - nothing inside. Might become a "project" for later.
The Fraenkel Gallery had a great Diane Arbus exhibition - bought the book there.

Nice find!
I was really hoping to make the SF gathering, but my schedule didn't allow..

I was just going through some pictures from the Louisville meeting a few years ago. Found the ones of us sitting on the patio at the pub, smoking pipes, drinking beer and fondling cameras.. Good times.

Travis, that Bourbon Beer stout still makes me drool!
