at saturday we were a couple of freaks fighting in Freiburg/Germany, two of us had the MPs, mine the silver one and a collegue from Karlsruhe with his hammertone MP. While I had to clean my silver MP at the evening, he could drink a beer. You don't see one fingerprint on the body, nothing, absolutly nothing to see from the day trip through the city.

My M7 0.58x a la carte with 28mm/2.8 Elmarit M ASPH. Body black paint with chrome controls and faux black lizard skin.

M5 and 90mm f2 Summicron with Luigi case and soft release. Covering the M5's rather chunky loins with some of Luigi's finest leather does wonders and the largish 90mm Summicron suits its looks!

Whom indeed? Sweet case as well. I wasn't aware Luigi made M5 cases.

OK, here it is. unpacked and ready to roll!

It's a new experience to me. I actually thought it's smaller than my contax IIa - but it's slightly LARGER! It has an excellent viewfinder indeed, but it is NOT more silent than the Contax.
Anyway, i'm looking forward to using it. And to the results.

Here's my 1963 M2 with 5cm Summitar.

You are all going to hate me for saying this, but the black ZM lenses I have pefectly match my new Black Paint MP. The black paint itself is very similar (Camera not being too shiny), then the red and white markings also match. The silver rim to the ZM lenses also perfectly matches the silver shutter depression on the camera too. I mean perfect match......

My digi camera is broken otherwise I would send some shots. I did not buy the compbo with looks in mind but could not believe how good the match was...much better than orange markings on the leica black lenses (not paint ones which I realise are red and white) against the red on the BP MP. I went to a black luigi half case and again, it looks incrdible.

The only thing I can imagine looking even better would be a black MP3 LHSA with regular BP leical lenses (personally nopt a great fan of the retro LHSA lenses, esp considering the bulky lens hood).

I agree that the ZM Black Paint lenses look quite fine on Black Paint M bodies. I particularly like the 21mm/2.8 Biogon ZM and Zeiss Finder and the 25mm/2.8 Biogon ZM on my 0.58X body, though they work even better than they look.

I bought a 28,35,50 ZM along with as new 90 Elmarit M and an pleased as punch. Would like a second MP body to have a different speed mono film...I dont really want an identical BP MP body but cannot imagine the black ZM lenses will match the silver MP at all. Reckon I will have to steal a BP MP3 body. Black lenses suit the Hammertone MP?
