Wow! GE made a lightmeter - does it work? How do I get one? I really want one... (I used to work for them - great company).

Cheers,
Alex

Yes, it works like a charm! Spot on! Bought it about ten years ago and it never let me down. I guess it is from the 1950's, wait, here's a picture of the (more informative) backside. The serial # is K55543. Maybe I can find out from what year this model is.

Edit: since light meters are OT in this thread, I started a new thread: http://rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?p=562087
Oh, and I saw one for cheap on the bay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Working-General...4370438QQihZ020QQcategoryZ88670QQcmdZViewItem
And a nice online manual as well: http://yandr.50megs.com/ge/pr1/pr1.htm

Lets see if this works? Trying to uppload a pic.

Great combination and welcome to the Forum.

Slow day here in Boston so I'm posting pics of my M cams along with my new R4A over in the CV forum. :)

1) My first attempt at marking up the magnifications - a 0.85 mag sandwich.
2) The three M cams with from left, 35 Summilux ASPH, 75 Summicron ASPH, rigid Summicron.
3) A walkaround kit - M7, Rapidgrip, rigid Summicron.

Wow. That's a pretty amazing shot Roland! :) I use Domke Gripper straps and they come with the little leather protectors.

Yes but it only 1/2 works - too small. I'd like to find a transparent holder the size of a box lid that I could stick onto the top or bottom of a body. I normally use a regular sticker and that works OK.

Try the light impressions label holders- or another label holder from a stationers. I have them on my G2's baseplates to make it easier to know which is which when you can't see the back.
adhesive on the LIMP ones is not permanent on the titanium anyway- wouldn't maybe trust it with paint.

Did you Panda that M7 yourself?

Thanks I will check out Light Impressions.

I believe a Panda is a camera with film winder, speed dial and film rewind knob a different color. This is just the winder and speed dial and I got Leica to do it when they replaced the VF for me under warranty. Reason is that I have two identical looking cameras - one a 0.72 mag and the other a 0.85 mag and now I can tell them apart immediately. :) Kind of ugly but I've got used to it - and it works.

Now that my M3 arrived I can add it here. This is it as far as Leica related stuff is concerned, minus the 40 that Raid has.
