Just bought the GRII recently. Nothing special:

Settle in, takes some time to get the hang of processing the files. Between the handling, and the performance I find these great cameras. I started with the D2 also (after the 1S), and don't see myself without a GR anytime soon.

I hoping they announce a FF version tomorrow, I will be in hog heaven.

I have no complaints about the camera itself, I just haven't had the chance to shoot as much as I'd like to. In fact, that photo was file number 8. Just an OOC JPG. It reminds me of the GXR with the 28 module I used to have and more recently I've been using the GRD3 which is fantastic as well but I've become used to the small sensor.

I thought the same thing when I bought mine. I didn't like the color palette (still don't) and I thought the build was kinda cheap for the selling price. But that lens is just so freakin' sharp! I played around with the GR II until I got accustomed to using it. Then I discovered how awesome the B&W files are--both Raw and JPEG. Since then, it's become my dedicated monochrome camera and I'm lovin' it. When I made some prints on Canson BFK Rives (now PrintMaKing), I was blown away. I haven't made prints this nice since the original Agfa Portriga Rapid was discontinued.

I love the camera, I was referring to the photo. Ricoh has always produced excellent black and white output. The biggest difference I noticed was how sharp it is.

I sell these cameras and that is one of the first things people say when they pick it up. People think heavy=good qaulity, and because it is so light for its size it must not be good. Silly.

Doesn't really matter what material is used in the construction. It feels plasticky and thin. I have grown to love the camera but I had to get past the less than impressive way it feels.

Feels heavier in the hand to me right now than it's size would indicate. But I guess I'm a cheapskate.
