Nice pics everyone. I sold off my Leica gear to get into the watch game. Wearing a simple German A Lange & Sohne Saxonia. Unfortunately don't have a camera yet (planning on getting an M-E) to contribute to this thread for now!

1956-1958 gold Hamilton Automatic

Very interesting backstory on this Hamilton. It was my great uncle's (whom I never met) upon retirement (a company retirement gift). Upon his death my grandfather inherited it. On Dec. 28th, 1975 he was kidnapped, tortured, shot and killed in the basement of an abandoned house. This watch was stolen along with $12 he had in his wallet. The killers went and got high and lost the cash and watch in a gambling match. The winner of this watch later figured it was from the murdered man (my grandfather) as this was big news in Birmingham. He contacted police and turned it in. My grandmother confirmed it was her husbands (my great uncles initials are lightly engraved on the back). The watch was returned and helped lead to the conviction of those involved in the murder. Today it graces my wrist. I was less than 1 year old when this happened so the only connection I have with this man today.

Couldn't resist. Here's my M3, IIIf and on the left a Gallet chronometer and on the right a Heuer chronometer, pre TAG. All mechanical, of course.

Sorry to correct you, but watches are actually Chronographs

Chronometers are watches that have been timed to various positions and temperatures to meet specific criteria to be called chronometers
