I like this idea- does it intrude into the VF much? This might be a great solution for the Zeisse- the hoods are rather shallow anyway.

The Zeiss 35/2 has a filter thread of 43, that's a 4.5mm larger radius. I did not notice the difference yet. I've got quite some older filters, including polarizers, in 52mm size.
