with light leak, the frames would look different depending on how much time they were sitting in front of the leak. why the sprocket marks if a light leak?
Looks like leaking back door. On your test roll, tape the hinge side of the door with black masking tape or some-such and check if the effect is still there. If not, the light leak is from there.
Self-question:
How would you get a few sprocket holes showing when the film is still in the camera? was my first and only thought. The scanner idea seems pretty good!
