Light Leaks?

Do you think these are light leaks?

What puzzles me, is that in the last roll only four of 37 images have these. In the roll before that, maybe 5 or 6. Has anyone here experience with that and can give me a hint what to do?

I think, it would be a very strange position for a light leak, because I would expect them to be at the corners of the images. Maybe the shutter is leaky? What do you think?

Was there a long time between the shots just prior to these?
Is there a light trap material in the grooves for the door or window in the back to see if the camera has film. That may also have a foam seal.

The straight edge suggests film coming out of the film cartridge and being light struck as it is waiting for the next shot.

Good guess, but no, they are two in a row of shots. Most of the roll was exposed on one afternoon, where some of the images have it, and some don't. But I think, I will tape the back, until the current roll is full.

No, the CLE does not have such a window.

This is a good hint, I think. I will look into that, as soon as the current roll is full and removed.

It looks like a light leak for sure. Don't be too quick to blame the camera. It could be some sloppiness at the lab. Check to make sure you see the same light leak on the negatives. You might want to try taking the next roll to a different lab.

I think your CLE, like my CL are pretty much immune to light leaks.

I would suspect, from the completeness of the banding, that these

are the result of light leakage in the cassette - most likely after

removal from the camera.

I would suspect, from the completeness of the banding, that these are the result of light leakage in the cassette - most likely after removal from the camera.

But then I would expect the banding to be harder in the later frames (because they are on the outer side of the roll) and on frames following each other. But they are spread over the whole roll with no equal distance, but always at the same place on the frame.

It sounds like the camera is to blame. I hope it's the back rather than the shutter curtain (which would show up at lens changes as klapka is wondering).

Thank you all so far.

The two examples are just two shots apart and I did not change lenses that day. So there's "hope" that it is only the back which can be fixed with some rubber-foam.

I will look into that, as soon as the current roll is out of the camera. If I find the problem and fix it, I will post that here, in case anyone is interested.

Absolutely not true. The CLE has a conventional hinged back that is sealed by a sticky sponge materiel that deteriorates with time and causes light leaks just like that shown here when taken out in full sun. Time to replace the light seals round the camera back I think.

As many already guessed, it was the light sealing in the back. I have replaced it myself with a sponge rubber tape, which I bought for about 2€, and I needed about 20 Minutes for the whole procedure. Very simple and now the sealing ist like new. Thanks for all the good hints.
