LIGHT METERS - What do you prefer?

The only time I use a meter (Luna Pro - incident reading) is when I'm doing a formal portrait. Outdoors I use the sunny 16 rule. Indoor snaps are typically 1/30 @ f2.8 - f4... in homes, clubs and stage. If the light is very low I use 1/4 - 1/2 sec wide open. Personally, I'd rather get an image on film than miss the shot while messing around with a meter. Film speed... I could care less... it's all the same to me.

Does the meter on your IIIa not work? Even my Kiev III '53 meter is still within tolerance, and difficult to lose.

Why does the meter depend on the cloths unless I empty trouser pockets the washing machine washed the notes (bills) and lose change really clean, or the change gets into the drum and rattles rust me noises...

The meter on the Contax works quite well. I use the VC on my Leica IIIa and will use it on the Kiev I have in the mail. Alas I have sold the contax.
