Few months ago I bought an M9P shortly before leaving on a trip. Now I am back but at our summer house but I do not remember where the LR software is. Was it on the disk with the box? I do not remember a DVD when I opened the box although my memory is hazy right now. Too much moving in the past 2 months.

You can download it as long as you have the serial number.

Excellent. Do you remember where the serial number is? Is it on the box? Somewhere in the manual?

Well I bought it on line, so I only have a serial number to begin with.
But Adobe usually puts their serial numbers on the envelope with the disk, or on the disk case if your disk came with a case. It's usually not in the manual or on the box.
It's a good idea to keep a database with your serial numbers around, just in case you lose the original disk.

You need to log on to the Leica website and register. Then you need the camera serial number, which of course is on the camera, and a "Tan" number which is written on the Passport/warranty. I don't have it to hand but it's easy to see on whichever piece of documentation, that came in the box. It should guide you through the process on the Leica website anyway, with full instructions of how to obtain the software. You can also get 4 free editions of LFI magazine when you register.
