Does this mean i wont have to 6 bit code all my Non Leica Lenses?
just shoot away with Heliar 15mm and process post capture?

It means that Lightroom has profiles for some Leica lenses, and can apply a profile if one of those lenses is identified in the file. To be identified in the file, the lens would need to be coded, or (on M9) manually selected.

In the beta version of LR4 there were five 'Leica-S' Lens that had profiles listed in the 'Lens Correction' section.

There were no Lecia-M lenses available in the profile listing.

The final release version has profiles for all (?) the current-version Leica M lenses.

I'm not sure what you'd select for the CV 15mm, though... I suspect you'd do better creating a custom profile for it.

On some web sites giving info about lens coding, it suggests using the tri-elmar code for the 15mm?
I could create my own profile, sounds complicated tho.

I have just bought a 2nd hand M8.
I already have voigtlander Nokton 50 1.5, Skopar 35 2.5,
15mm already mentioned, 90mm Lanthar. + leica 90mm Elmar
Numerous Russian lenses etc etc.
But
The cost is building all the time, i thought i could save a bit of money by not having to invest in a new set of 6 bit code M adapters. (£200.00)
Saving up for some IR cut filters at the moment. (£120.00)
Any saving is most welcome.

Welcome to the bottomless moneypit, otherwise known as Leica ownership!!!
