I bought a 101 Jahre set with the Heliar 50mm 3.5, and next I will buy from a RFF member the Heliar 50mm 2.0. If the new set is optically identical to the old set, then the Nickel finish and the limitedness will double the price of what it should be listing for.

I never really understood this. Other than maybe Voigtlander selling Cosina their name, is there any co operation with, or involvement in Cosina by the German company? I'm just asking.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't believe there is any connection with the current Voigtlander company in Germany and Cosina. Does Cosina own the Voigtlander name, or do they just license it?
In any case, I don't think there is any connection with Cosina Voigtlander and the Voigtlander of yesteryear that produced the Bessa, Vito, Prominent, Bessamatic and other cameras other than the use of the names.

There is not currently a Voigtlander company or factory, there hasn't been in years. Through aquistions and buy outs Ringfoto in Germany ended up with the rights to the Voigtlander brand name so Cosina approached them and they were more than happy to licence and get a buck for the name they werent using for anything. The first Bessa L's and 15mm's do in fact bear the Cosina brand name.

No need to quibble about the Cosina Voigtlander relationship - any excuse to celebrate and build beautiful classic lenses like this is really welcome - Hats off to Cosina!

Many brand name products we can buy today are name only with the brand owned by some investment company with marketing done by a consultant firm and products outsourced by agents. But Cosina made Voigtlander products are much more such that people say Cosina and Voigtlander in one breath.

Beautiful lenses. Cosina is catering the rangefinder community well. If people are asking me for the brand of my Bessa R with taped up labels I tell them it is a Cosina. That does not seem to ring a bell, but as soon as they spot the "Voigtländer Germany Since 1756" they will go: "Ahhh" for what reason however.
