Linhof Press 6x9

I'm a newcomer to RFF
There is an opportunity to buy complete set Linhof Press 6x9 with lenses 53mm Zeiss Biogon, 100mm Zeiss Planar, 180mm Zeiss Sonnar.
It is a good choice?
Any thoughts?

I'm assuming you are talking about the Press 70 with helical focusing mount and geared roll back? I haven't owned the Press 70 but had the Technica 70 (last model) and Master Technika for about 30 years. On my Technika 70 I had the Schneider 53 F4 Super Angulon, 100 2.8 Planar and 180 Tele Arton. This range is excellent and covers most peoples needs. I don't think there were many more choices for the Press 70 due to the helical focusing but many lenses could be used on the Technica version. All three of the Zeiss lenses you listed are top quality. You'll love either of the cameras. They're built like a precision tank.

I'm not sure what Linhof you exactly talking about. But these are lenses are the finest that were available and are highly sought after. They are however big and heavy.
If it is a good choice depends on your needs and the price.

A friend of mine has this setup.
If Leica made a 6x9 technical camera, this would be it.
Give it a try and try identify the exact model, before you put cash down.

in any case the 53mm Biogon is a legendary optic and highly sought after. I think they are running around $1000 or more these days.

At Press 70 format of the staff 6х7 and at this camera 6х9..
Optics very good but without a modern enlightenment.
I think that a camera very good. I shall make tomorrow the test of this camera and lenses

Thanks! These are very heavy lenses, especially 180 Planar..
 
Your link to the camera was missing. I would love to see it and what is the price? They are large and heavy but worth the weight.

Here the image of a camera. There are photos of other conditions and lenses.
It very old. The lens has no modern covering. Linhof-adapter 6x9 and also cartridges for a sheet film.

I discuss the price.
Any thoughts?

Your friend has such camera, how in the message above?
Linhof Press had some updatings and formats.

For this reason I like this camera. But it very old.

Yes, it so.. He has no modern covering and preflat that the shutter demands careful survey.

wow!!!!!! I sure like that system , I have the 2x3 or 6x9 with the bellows and that would be more my style, let me know if you ever sell it.

Super Technika 6x9 sounds right. I have tried to find my Linhof "bible" to accurately identify it, but alas I have a lot of looking to do - too many books in boxes (nearly as many books as cameras :) .

It also looks like a wonderful specialist camera Linhof made around the 1950s/60s mostly used for weddings - had a vertical orientation of 7x6 or 9x6 (can't remember which I'm sorry), but I don't think it's the same camera. They made so many specialist cameras up until around the 1970s.

Whatever, it is it looks a treat. Got to love that anatomical grip!

What is the lens on it?

No, I did not begin to buy this camera.
It has seemed to me very heavy for trips.
I think, that this very high quality, but it is difficult to me to carry it on the travel.

But a camera still at me.

Technika Press 23 sounds right. This one has the helical focusing of a Press 6x9 camera, and the rangefinder setup of the Tech III era. The Press 70 has helical focusing and the rangefinder of the Tech 70.

But the main thing is the Zeiss lens set, which makes this a very desirable camera. It's also got rear swings and tilts, which can be used with the viewfinder. And that looks like some kind of TTL that slips under the groundglass, which is kind of curious, but not really a necessity.

If it has the old-style Rollex rollfilm back with the winding knob, it is likely to have frame spacing problems with some modern films, due to a design issue, which was not a problem when it was new. You'll want to find newer Super-Rollex rollfilm backs with the lever advance, which do not have this problem.
